Albion boss Chris Hughton is expecting another frantic end to the January transfer window.

The Seagulls have yet to add to the squad since the turn of the year. They have been searching for a striker since promotion last season and Hughton needs a replacement for Izzy Brown, whose loan spell from Saturday's visitors Chelsea has been cut short by injury.

A central defender remains on the wish list as well to allow Connor Goldson to go out on loan.

Hughton said: “There are no updates at this moment.

"It's not an easy window and that's why, looking at the Premier League, not a lot of business has been done.

"I'm sure there will be, but we have got used to these windows where the business is mostly done at the tail end of it more than the beginning."

Chelsea have been hit by suspensions following the red cards shown to Pedro and Alvaro Morata during Wednesday night's chaotic FA Cup tie with Norwich.

Hughton said: "We are very aware of the game and the course the game took, the interesting aspects, VAR, the players who will miss our game.

"But we can't afford to think about the players not available, we have to think about the ones who are available.

"They are a special group who won the title last season and all our preparation has to be on their quality."
