ALBION are expecting a calm conclusion to the January transfer window after recapturing Leo Ulloa with three days to spare.

Further business is likely in and out before tomorrow night’s 11pm deadline – but not deals impacting on their Premier League squad.

Interest in Newcastle’s Serbian striker Alexandar Mitrovic has ended with the return of Ulloa.

The Seagulls are awaiting the outcome of tests on an ankle injury sustained by Jiri Skalak in the FA Cup win at Middlesbrough to assess whether another loan signing might be needed.

Czech fringe winger Skalak is part of Albion’s current 25-man Premier League squad.

If the Seagulls sign 19-year-old Luton Town right-back James Justin he will be loaned straight back to the runaway League Two leaders.

Meanwhile, Czech under-23s right-back Ales Mateju is a candidate for a loan exit.

Manager Chris Hughton said: “I must admit, I don’t see too much more happening.

“We have a squad in place and you, of course, never know. There certainly will be business at clubs over these next two days and even going into that last day.”
