He will be wearing the same No.25 shirt - but that is where the comparison ends between Jurgen Locadia and Bobby Zamora.

The record signing's fellow Dutchman and former Albion favourite Michel Kuipers says it would be unfair to draw any parallels with the club's goalscoring legend Zamora.

Ex-Albion keeper Kuipers works for SEG, the Netherlands-based agency that has represented Locadia from the age of 16.

Kuipers was alongside the 24-year-old marksman when he completed his club record £14 million move from PSV Eindhoven last month.

Locadia is in contention for his debut for the Seagulls at Stoke tomorrow after recovering from a hamstring injury suffered for PSV against Ajax in December.

He could be back on the pitch with former PSV team-mate Davy Propper at the bet365 Stadium, wearing the number coveted by Albion fans because of Zamora's exploits.

Kuipers (below centre) told The Argus: "Let's not compare Jurgen with a legend like that. He will work very hard to make a positive impact.

"He wants to score and give assists to help Brighton to be as successful as possible.

"He knows how competitive the Premier League is and he fully understands there is a lot of people that believe in him. He will do everything to perform at the highest level.

"Jurgen and Davy Propper played together at PSV, and he is looking forward to being back on the pitch with him again."

The Argus: SEG have looked after Locadia's interests since he joined PSV in 2010. Kuipers, 43, is now part of their network of agents and has offered Albion's new striker some insight into the club he served for a decade.

He said: "Jurgen has been with SEG since he was 16 years old and his ability to play football always caught our eye, and of other clubs as well.

"To protect Jürgen's interests and to make sure the transfer to Brighton was the best decision for him and his career, SEG agents across Europe worked together.

"It is very important for us, as an agency, to have this shared knowledge and network to support our clients the best way possible.

"There was a professional co-operation between a group of agents and all of the people that work at our HQ, in Amsterdam, like the legal and financial department.

"Since he signed I have told him about the history of the club and my own successful ten-year career at Brighton, as well as my affection for the club."

The Argus: Kuipers (above) is confident Locadia can transfer his form with PSV to Albion in the Premier League.

He said: "Jurgen is a very talented football player, with a lot of passion for the game. He will continue to do what he has been doing so far: work and train. We hope he's a good fit for the club."
