ALBION marksman Glenn Murray has been frightened into a goalscoring spree by the signings of Leo Ulloa and Jurgen Locadia.

The striker says he has been spurred on by the fresh competition as he bids to build on his best-ever Premier League tally.

Record buy Locadia scored on his debut in the FA Cup against Coventry at the Amex last Saturday.

Ulloa was also on target on his first start since rejoining the Seagulls on loan from Leicester.

Murray, expected to return to lead the attack in tomorrow’s crucial clash against Swansea after five goals in his last eight appearances, said: “It does spur you on because there are new people sitting there waiting to make the position their own.

“It definitely spurs you on and sort of frightens you into life almost.”

Murray has eight goals in the league and ten in total, including the FA Cup.

Locadia took only 15 minutes to open his account against Coventry after his £14 million move from PSV Eindhoven last month and recovery from hamstring trouble.

Murray told The Argus: “I think he is probably quite an unknown quantity. Even we are learning about him.

“He looks exciting, powerful, strong, quick. I am excited to see what he can bring to us in the Premier League.

“Any help from Leo and Jurgen, if those guys can help us stay in the Premier League they are just welcome additions to the squad.

“Everyone is pulling in the right direction. As a group we all want the same thing.”

A fourth home win out of six for Albion in all competitions would establish a four-point cushion over resurgent Swansea in the congested battled for survival in the bottom half of the table.
