Glenn Murray is relieved Albion have moved "out of the mire" after thrashing Swansea.
But he has warned the Seagulls' Premier League future is still in the balance.
Murray scored twice, one a penalty, in the 4-1 hammering of the Welshmen at the Amex, Albion's biggest ever Premier League win.
It has lifted them to 11th, four points clear of the relegation zone with ten games to play, and stretches their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches.
Murray said: "We felt as though if we kept possession we could create spaces in behind them and create chances to score.
"It was important we got the three points and moved up the table a little bit. It’s still in the balance and we can’t take our foot off the pedal. It's all the old clichés of course but to move out of the mire is nice."
