Mathew Ryan today revealed why he expects Albion to bounce back from their Goodison Park letdown.

The Aussie goalkeeper is confident they will show their mettle in the FA Cup, even if it comes down to a shoot out.

Ryan is waiting to see whether he or Tim Krul face Manchester United in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

He expects there to be a reaction from the 2-0 defeat to Everton in the Premier League based on what he has already seen this season.

Albion had lost 12 league and cup games before the Goodison trip and followed seven of those defeats with a win or draw in the next fixture.

Ryan told the Argus: “There have been a number of teams with different momentum periods throughout the season.

“We have had our turn now and we have got to learn from why we had that successful period and what we were doing well in those moments.

“We are only human and it was always possible we would have a bad day.

“We have learnt before about what we can do better moving forward.”

Ryan, with two penalty saves to his name, and Krul will do their spot-kick homework ahead of Old Trafford.

The tie will go to spot-kicks if scores are level after 20 minutes.

Ryan denied ex-United star Wayne Rooney after he aimed for the same corner as he had when scoring at the Amex.

Ryan said: “The opposition know we look at all penalty takers.

“You just need the luck that the side I choose is the one he shoots.

“I’d seen Rooney on clips and he had come up against some of the same keepers and gone the same way.

“At 2-0 he might have relaxed and tried something different, up the middle or something.

“But in the end I made the right decision.”
