ALBION are facing a summer goalkeeper decision as they assess back-up options for No.1 Mathew Ryan.

Tim Krul and Niki Maenpaa are both out of contract at the end of the season.

Krul is keen to stay but will have a decision to make if he is offered a first choice opportunity elsewhere.

Meanwhile Christian Walton is due to return from loan at Wigan and has his sights on the No.1 berth.

Albion boss Chris Hughton said: “Tim is a very good level of keeper who always wants to play.

“I think it’s the same in most positions, when the player or the goalkeeper that’s in the team is playing at a good level then sometimes it’s a bit easier.

“These players are all very, very competitive and they all want to play but they are also team players and they are also realistic.

“An example would be Connor Goldson who whenever he has come in he has done very well but he is facing two centre-halves in front of him (Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy) who both have been very good this season.

“I think there is a bit of that in Tim because he is an experienced keeper, but he has been used to playing, had a bit of a change.”

Finland international Maenpaa has only made one league appearance since joining from Dutch club VVV Venlo in July 15 as competition for former first choice David Stockdale, who moved to Birmingham last summer.

Ryan will be rested by Australia tonight as they face Colombia in a friendly at Craven Cottage.

Albion’s Davy Propper played a full 90 minutes in Geneva last night as he helped the Netherlands to a 3-0 victory over Portugal. Propper had an impressive game in central midfield.
