Dale Stephens said Albion owed themselves and their fans a performance after derby defeat.
The midfielder helped secure a come-from-behind 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the Amex.
The result and performance lifted spirits after their 3-2 defeat at Crystal Place.
Stephens said: “We put in a shift and we are pleased with a point.
“It was important we played well.
“We were disappointed after the weekend and getting beat by our local rivals.
“We wanted to put in a performance – and for the fans as well.
“Overall we are very pleased we managed to get a point."
Albion added the draw to their win over Arsenal at the Amex.
Stephens said: “We’ve been decent all season at home.
“We knew if we went after Tottenham we stood a chance of putting in a good performance.”
