SENIOR Albion professionals believe a win at Burnley will rubber-stamp survival.

But they could move a step closer tonight.

Southampton will be five points behind the Seagulls if they defeat their former boss Claude Puel at Leicester.

But defeat or even a draw would leave them in dire straits.

Albion, who visit Turf Moor a week on Saturday, are on 36 points after a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham.

Saints and Stoke each have 28.

Stoke are at home to Burnley on Saturday.

Seagulls skipper Bruno said: “We have to build from here.

“We have a massive game against Burnley but we have a long time to prepare for it.

“We need to get another three points to make sure we stay up.”

Midfielder Dale Stephens, pictured, said: “Thirty-six points is good but we still feel there’s a bit of work to be done.

“If we beat Burnley in a couple of weeks, that will obviously see us over the line.”

Albion’s situation could be helped by the fact Saints and Stoke both play Swansea in the last two rounds of the season.

If they get the wins they are likely to need, it would leave Swans needing points elsewhere in a run-in which also sends them to champions Manchester City and Bournemouth as well as tackling Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium.
