Albion are toasting record takings at the Amex – and a trouble-free great occasion.

The Seagulls set new bests for food and drinks sales as a sell-out crowd saw them beat Manchester United 1-0 on Friday.

With live television, they also set a new best for matchday income.

They were just as happy to see things run smoothly at the end of a sunny Friday leading into a Bank Holiday weekend.

Chief executive Paul Barber said: “There were no ejections, no arrests, no issues with visiting fans.

“People were drinking a fair amount in the afternoon in some cases but there were no problems reported.

“We had a record number of people dining before the game. There were 1,000 in for sit-down meals.

“We had record sales of food and drinks around the stadium plus we had the fee from live TV.

“It all helped generate the biggest income for a match in our history, significantly into seven figures.”
