Albion chairman Tony Bloom's takeover of Belgian club Saint Gilloise is nearing completion.
Bloom's bid for the second division outfit has now been accepted by a majority of shareholders, according to reports in Belgium.
He is expected to officially become their new owner by the beginning of next week.
The Argus revealed details last month of the takeover.
It is independent of Albion and an extension of Bloom's personal portfolio of investments.
There will be no link between the Seagulls and Union SG at playing or boardroom level and German Jurgen Baatzsch will remain as chairman of the historic, Brussels-based club.
The purchase is part of a long-term ambition of Bloom's to own a club overseas as well as the one he grew up supporting.
