Jofra Archer's return to Sussex is on hold.

The Sharks all-rounder remains in India after his IPL outfit Rajasthan Royals secured a surprise play-off spot.

They have an eliminator away to Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday.

That clearly would rule him out of his county’s Royal London One-Day Cup trip to Taunton tomorrow.

It would also appear likely to put his participation against Middlesex at Hove on Friday at risk, even if the Royals go out.

Archer, pictured, had been expected to return home yesterday with his franchise on the brink of elimination.

They kept their hopes alive on Saturday with a 30-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore and saw results in both games yesterday go their way to keep them in the final qualifying spot.

Their play-off berth was assured when King’s XI Punjab, needing to win by 53 runs to go through on run-rate, lost to Chennai Super Kings.

Chris Jordan also remains in India with his side Sunrisers Hyderabad.
