BRUNO is set for a Premier League head-to-head with the manager he tipped for big things.

Unai Emery, who twice signed the current Albion skipper in Spain, yesterday spoke for the first time as boss of Arsenal.

The former Sevilla and PSG boss, who comes from the Basque seaside town of Hondarribia, has succeeded Arsene Wenger on a four-year deal.

Emery plucked little known Bruno from Lleida, who had just been relegated to the third tier, and took him to Almeria in the summer of 2006.

They helped take Almeria to the top flight in their first season and Emery later signed Bruno for a second time, for Valencia.

The pair have remained good friends.

Speaking to The Argus when Emery’s Sevilla took on Albion at the Amex in 2015, Bruno said: “I was with him for five years and I think he’s a really good manager.

“A lot of clubs were interested in him and he didn’t move.

“One day I think he is going to be at a bigger club.

“Sevilla are a big club but he can be at a bigger club.

“He loves good football, possession, and having an aggressive team.”
