The left winger starts today in Colombia’s Group H opener against Japan in Saransk.
Bu the Colombians have had to leave talisman James Rodriguez, who has been suffering from muscle fatigue, out of their XI.
Izquierdo will play on the left of a 4-2-3-1 set-up.
He goes into the game with five caps and one international goal to his name.
