SUSSEX star Chris Jordan has kept his England place.

But it means he will miss more matches for his county.

IPL pair Jordan and Jofra Archer play their first Specsavers County Championship cricket of the summer when Durham visit Arundel from today.

Jordan failed to make an impact in the IPL but remains part of the England scene.

He will join up with England ahead of Twenty20s against Australia and India, ruling him out of Sharks’ games at Essex and Glamorgan in the Vitality Blast.

Attention is firmly on red-ball cricket as Sussex tackle the challenge of Arundel.

Head coach Jason Gillespie said: “The surface in my time in cricket hasn’t been known as a fast wicket.

“We are not expecting it to fly through.

“It’s a good cricket wicket and, if we perform our skills as we know we can, hopefully we will get rewarded enough.

“We have shown a bit of fight in the County Championship so far.”
