Sussex's bid for an away win in the Championship still hung in the balance at lunch today.
James Bracey and Gareth Roderick batted Gloucestershire into a promising position on the final day of the match Cheltenham.
Prospects looked bleak for the hosts when nightwatchmen Matt Taylor and George Drissell fell early, to Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer respectively, leaving them 38-4 chasing 276 to win.
But Bracey and Roderick then accumulated steadily with few alarms in bright sunshine, taking their fourth-wicket partnership to 87 by lunch.
Bracey was unbeaten on 47 and Roderick 34 not out, with their side 125-4 and needing a further 151 to record a second Championship win of the season.
