Albion are lining up Glenn Murray for a midweek return to action.

The striker is likely to play in one of their two friendlies on Tuesday as he returns from an ankle problem which forced him out of the opening fixture at St Gallen.

Summer signing Florin Andone, who has a groin injury, is more likely to get his first action a week today when the Seagulls go to Birmingham City.

Albion boss Chris Hughton said: “Florin is very close but, at this moment, he won’t be involved in the game on Tuesday.

“What he is doing at the moment might almost be the equivalent of playing in a game.

“He is doing a lot of work but it’s controlled work.”

Goalkeeper Jason Steele is still recovering from a thigh problem and will be assessed ahead of the game at St Andrew’s.

Albion have kept the recently arrived Leon Balogun and Yves Bissouma out of the game at AFC Wimbledon today, as well as Mathew Ryan.
