Albion have completed the capture of Dan Burn from Wigan for around £3 million.

The 6ft 7ins central defender has signed a four-year contract with the Seagulls.

He is being loaned straight back to Wigan until January to recover from a broken foot bone and play for them in the Championship.

The Seagulls are still hopeful of also completing the signing of Valencia right-back Martin Montoya.

Although the Premier League transfer window officially shuts at 5pm they are allowed an hour's grace to complete paperwork.

Permanent moves for Oliver Norwood, Tomer Hemed and Richie Towell to the Championship have not yet materialised.

They can still be signed on loan by second tier clubs with a view to permanent deals up until the end of August.

Meanwhile, Albion have made another signing for their under-23s.

Swedish midfielder Peter Gwargis, 17, (below0 has joined Simon Rusk's squad from second tier Jonkopings Sodra IF for an undisclosed fee until 2021.
