GLENN Murray says Albion can only get better after a "rude awakening" at Watford.

Last season's top scorer was perplexed by the tame nature of the Seagulls' 2-0 defeat at Vicarage Road.

Murray said: "We are disappointed. It was a rude awakening. We will take a bit of time and work over it and see where we can improve.

"We have to look over it with the gaffer and the staff. We will work out how to put it right next weekend.

"I don't feel as though we got much service or many balls in the box. It's difficult to assess.

"I can't put my finger on it. We will go away and do our homework. We can only improve."

Albion conceded the most goals from set-pieces in the Premier League last season.

The first of Argentinian Roberto Pereyra's two goals for Watford was a sweet strike on the volley from a corner.

Murray said: "It is disappointing because we worked on it during the week. We have worked a lot on set-pieces.

"We just knocked off. They did it at the right time so credit to them. It worked perfectly for them."

Fans will be hoping for an improved display at a sold-out Amex against Manchester United on Sunday (4pm).

Murray said: "It's not so much owing them a performance. We just need to get started, go away, work on things and be better next weekend.

"We want to get back out on the pitch as soon as possible. The second year in the league the main thing is to stay up and keep the team going in the right direction.

"We have lost one game. There are 37 left. It's not all doom and gloom. We have lost one away game."
