Luke Wright praised his spin pair after Sussex secured a last-eight place.
Sharks will go to Durham in the Vitality Blast quarter-finals after beating Middlesex at Hove tonight.
They did so without Afghanistan star Rashid Khan – but spinners Will Beer and Danny Briggs played key roles.
Beer took wickets of Paul Stirling and John Simpson after they threatened to spoil the party before a packed house at Hove.
And Briggs took 2-22 from his four overs with the bat flying.
Sharks skipper Wright, who scored 74, joked: “I was looking around for Rash at one stage!
“But it’s a nice story. Will has been waiting patiently for his opportunity.
“I told him he isn’t playing not because he isn’t good enough. He was missing out to the world’s best bowler in T20.
“I told him to keep trying to take wickets. It changed the game.
“I think Danny is one of the most under-rated bowlers in T20.
“He is Mr Consistent. You always give him the tough overs.
“We’ve had short boundaries and you always throw the ball to Danny and you know he is going to give you something outstanding.
“To go for 22 in all that chaos, I can’t speak highly enough.”
