Dan Buet reckons summer signing Victoria Williams can make life tough for top-flight forwards.

And she is speaking from personal experience.

Buet has welcomed a handful of new additions to the Albion squad ahead of their debut FA WSL campaign.

The action kicks off with a Conti Cup group fixture at Chelsea today with league matches to follow next month.

Williams has played in the top flight with Chelsea and was snapped up by Albion after her contract at Sunderland expired.

Albion skipper Buet, said: “I’ve known Vicky for years. She is one of the most frustrating defenders I’ve ever played against because she is so physical. She just won’t let up at all.

“I know a few of the new players because I’ve played with and against them.

“They bring a lot of experience. They are very all very positive signings and that is what we needed.”

Albion have gone full-time this season, which has allowed for a tough pre-season.

Buet said: “We had a hard week in Portugal which really helped and I think everyone is super excited about the new season.

“We start in the Conti Cup but I think for us the season really starts when we play Bristol City in our first league game.

“We seem to have been waiting for so long and now it’s here.”
