Chris Hughton says he can’t understand Cardiff’s winning goal being allowed to stand.
The Albion boss said he could possibly see why Dale Stephens was sent off for a foul on Greg Cunningham, even if he didn’t necessarily agree with it.
But he was bitterly disappointed to see his ten-man side sunk in the 90th minute as Sol Bamba struck in a goalmouth melee..
Hughton said of the red card: “That particular challenge can go either way.
“Dale has given the referee a decision to make.
“I have seen worse with the studs showing very early.
“I think he is very late with his foot coming up. I don’t think there is great contact with the player and I think some referees wouldn’t have given it.
“Some would have done so that bit I understand.
“What I find harder to understand is a linesman in the position that he is getting that one wrong.
“For me, that is a comfortable and easy decision to make.
“He is offside. We have seen it on numerous occasions and he is in an offside position.
“That’s the frustration, that’s the anger.”
