Chris Hughton's wish for game time for Leon Balogun has fallen on deaf ears.
The Albion boss was hoping his back-up central defender, out of action since early February after shoulder trouble, would feature for Nigeria.
Balogun was an unused sub this afternoon as the Super Eagles completed their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 3-1 home win against the Seychelles in Asaba.
Nigeria chief Gernot Rohr could give Balogun a much-needed outing against Egypt in a friendly on Tuesday.
Odion Ighalo (penalty), Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simon confirmed Nigeria as group winners in the same section as Percy Tau's South Africa after the Seychelles scored a shock first half equaliser.
