Albion head coach Graham Potter will launch his reign with a trip to Watford.

The Seagulls face another early season test against the Hornets in the Premier League fixtures list, announced this morning.

They go to Vicarage Road on August 10 before welcoming West Ham for Potter's first match at the Amex a week later.

Albion started last season with a 2-0 defeat at Watford and a difficult debut for Bernardo (below) on their way to finishing 17th under former boss Chris Hughton.

The Argus: The season before, their first back in the top flight, they picked up their first point in a 0-0 draw in Hertfordshire in their third game.

Watford finished 11th last season, 14 points above Albion.

Javi Gracia's side ended the campaign with a 6-0 thrashing by league champions Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley after Albion lost 1-0 to Pep Guardiola's team in the semi-finals.

City are the first of the Big Six Potter will confront, at the Amex at the end of August prior to the first international break.

Potter's Swansea gave City a fright in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The Seagulls visit Chelsea at the end of September and host Spurs a week later.

That is followed, after another international break, by their first game against one of the promoted trio Potter tackled in the Championship last season when they visit Aston Villa.

Albion have a challenging run in November and early December against Manchester United, Leicester, Liverpool, Arsenal, Wolves and arch rivals Crystal Palace.

They go to Spurs on Boxing Day, entertain Bournemouth 48 hours later and Chelsea on New Year's Day.

Potter will be hoping to be in a comfortable position going into the final nine games from mid-March. They include Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City before the last home game against Newcastle and finish at Burnley.

The home game against Watford, scheduled for February 8, could be moved.

A mid-season break comes into force that month. Half of the matches will be played from February 8 and half from February 15.

Those fixtures will be confirmed when the TV picks are announced in mid-December.
