Albion have confirmed new deals or contract extensions for 17 of their Barclays FAWSL squad.

Summer business includes new terms for skipper Dani Buet and player of the year Aileen Whelan plus two-year contract extensions for Kayleigh Green and Megan Connolly.

Albion finished a respectable ninth in the 11-team division last season, their first in the fully-professional top-flight.

Amanda Nilden, Emily Simpkins, Fern Whelan, Fliss Gibbons, Ini Umotong, Jodie Brett, Kate Natkiel, Kirsty Barton, Laura Rafferty, Sophie Harris and Victoria Williams have all extended their existing contracts.

Young full-back Beth Roe joins Aileen Whelan and Buet in agreeing new terms.

Ellie Brazil was already on board for the new season, which will be the second of her current two-year deal.

Albion manager Hope Powell said: “All of these players deserve their places in the squad, after coping well with the increased demands of the Women’s Super League.

“They have all shown the hunger to compete at the top level, and I am very much looking forward to working with them in pre-season.

“With the introduction of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur to the division, it is set to be an even tougher task, and all the players and staff need to be ready for what lies ahead.”

Goalkeeper Megan Walsh and defender Matilde Skovsen have joined the club so far this summer.

Chloe Peplow and Marie Hourihan were offered new contracts but have moved on to Tottenham and Portuguese champions Braga respectively.

Out-of-contract Lucy Gillett and Sophie Perry have also left the club.
