A STRIKER whose dream move to Albion fell through due to a heart condition has suffered another setback.

Raphael Dwamena has been withdrawn from physical activity indefinitely by his current club Real Zaragoza due to a health issue.

Albion pulled out of a £10 million move for the Ghana international striker in the summer of 2017 when rigorous medical checks identified a heart condition.

Reasons for the latest setback have not been disclosed by second division outfit Zaragoza, to whom the player is on loan from top-flight Levante.

But he has been withdrawn from playing and training.

A club statement revealed Dwamena would undergo more tests and continued: “Real Zaragoza trust there will be a quick and total recovery.”

Dwamena, who turned 24 last month, returned to FC Zürich when his move to Albion collapsed and was fitted with a heart-reading chip.

He signed a four-year deal at Levante ahead of last season, during which he scored one goal.

Albion's Alexis Mac Allister was not in the Argentina squad which fought back to draw 2-2 against Germany last night in Dortmund. Both coaches fielded makeshift sides.

The Seagulls loanee will not be involved when they face Ecuador on Sunday either as Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni agreed not to select Boca Juniors or River players, allowing them to concentrate on their Libertadores semi-final.
