SHANE DUFFY admitted Albion failed to do themselves justice in their 3-1 defeat to Manchester United.
Albion went 2-0 down in the opening 20 minutes, before pulling one back in the second half.
They were then pegged back again minutes later when Marcus Rashford restored United’s two-goal cushion with his sixth goal of the Premier League campaign.
Albion had to battle to keep United at bay during the last 20 minutes as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side threatened to run riot.
Defender Duffy said: “It was a difficult afternoon and the most disappointing thing was the way we performed.
“It wasn’t us. First half we were sloppy and played to their strengths, which was disappointing.
“We were confident coming here of causing an upset and getting a result, but the performance wasn’t good enough to be honest.
“You have to be at your best to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and we weren’t.
Duffy added: “We were giving the ball away, being sloppy, making silly errors and we were getting stretched five against three or three against two sometimes, which against that pace is very difficult.
“There are things to learn from this, there are some positives which we can take and then re-group over the break.”
