Maidenhead 1, Eastburne B 2.

Eastbourne Borough got back on track after their New Year's Day defeat to Lewes with a 2-1 win at Maidenhead.

Darren Budd opened the scoring and skipper Paul Armstrong fired home a second half penalty to seal victory.

Borough started really well with Adam Wilde having a shot well saved on seven minutes.

The opener came two minutes later when Pat Harding did well to dig out a cross from the right which Budd finished well from close range.

Borough eased off the gas and the Magpies began to apply their own pressure. Ashley Smith's corner was headed just wide by John Hastings and Manny Williams shaved a post after a poor clearance by Armstrong.

Allan Tait had an effort saved and Pat Harding's follow-up was somehow cleared off the line by Grant Cooper as Wilson's side finished the half strongly.

Borough made it 2-0 straight from the kick-off. Jay Lovett's high ball was flicked on by Andy Atkin and as Budd tried to round the keeper he was brought down by Chico Ramos. The keeper was fortunate not to be sent off but he had no chance from Armstrong's well taken spot-kick.

Soon after Atkin had an effort cleared off the line as Borough tried to put the game out of reach.

The home side had a few forays forward and Williams pulled a goal back on the stroke of full--time but it was never going to be enough as Borough held on for three well-deserved points.
