Karl Flynn insists Bognor will not take their foot off the gas despite virtually guaranteeing their place in London Three South East next season.

Lee Balchin scored a hat-trick of tries as Bognor maintained their 100 per cent record after fighting back from 15-6 down to win 23-22 at Charlton Park even though they played the majority of the second half with 14 men due to injuries.

It means Bognor are 12 points clear of their only rivals for promotion - Beccehamian and Bromley - with six matches to go.

Coach Flynn said: "It was the first time we have looked like losing this season but we have got such a winning mentality we refused to accept defeat.

"Promotion was our aim at the start of the season and we are almost there but we don't want to let up. We want to go up as champions and it would be a great achievement to go the whole season without defeat."

Hove remain in the second promotion spot after staging a second-half fightback to beat Crowborough 36-20 at home.

Barry Young had given Hove the lead after just 80 seconds only for the visitors to go in 20-17 ahead at the break.

But Alex Robertson completed his hat-trick in the second half and further tries from Alex Probyn and Adam Phillips sealed Hove's win.

Horsham are rooted to the foot of the table after conceding three tries in the opening 20 minutes on their way to a 29-8 defeat at Bromley. John Hamblin scored Horsham's consolation try.

Hastings and Bexhill are also in danger of going down following a 36-3 hammering at Folkestone.

Shaun Murphy touch down twice and further tries from Andy Marais, Chris Johnson, Moses Kasujja and Dan Leaver saw Chichester continue their good run of form with a 39-8 home win at home to Old Dunstonians in London Three South East.

Lewes turned in another improved performance but still went down 29-10 at Aylesford Bulls to remain bottom of the table. Rupert Arbuthnot had given them an early lead while Chris Eden also touched down.

Eastbourne lost 28-10 at home to Old Elthamians with their tries coming from Adam Flude and Gavin Farley.
