Hard-up Lewes are facing a fine - for not producing a match programme.

Rooks will have no matchday magazine on sale for tomorrow’s Blue Square premier clash with Grays Athletic.

But it is not all bad news. The club are advising fans they can download the magazine ahead of kick-off at lewesfc.com.

It is understood the problem is due to a late payment which left the printers unable to produce the programme in time.

The matter is an embarrassment for the club and highlights their precarious financial position.

A spokesman said: “The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and look to reassure everyone the matter will be rectified for the next home game.”
