The Australians stepped up their preparations for the Ashes with a three-hour training session at Hove today.
The tourists have been based in Leicester since their shock early elimination from the Twenty20 World Cup.
But skipper Ricky Ponting says they are looking forward to stepping up their build-up before the first Test during the four-day game against Sussex at Hove, which starts on Wednesday.
The 16-man squad practised this morning before meeting the press in a one-hour media open session attended by over 50 journalists and film crews.
They will train again tomorrow afternoon and will be joined by local schoolchildren who have been invited to practice with the Australian stars.
Ponting says the squad for the 12-a-side game against Sussex will be named on Tuesday.
