Murray linked with Terriers

Big-spending Huddersfield Town are refusing to rule out a bid for unsettled Albion hitman Glenn Murray.

The League One club remain keen to boost their firepower, despite splashing out on Coventry front runner Robbie Simpson.

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark is looking to offload Phil Jevons and Keigan Parker, both of whom have one year left on current contracts, which leaves only untried Lee Novak at his disposal up front.

Murray has admitted he is keen to return north although Albion would look to make a profit on the £300,000 they paid to bring him from Rochdale.

Huddersfield have considerable funds to spend despite buying Simpson for a fee being reported as £300,000 in Yorkshire and £500,000 in the East Midlands.

They have, however, ruled out a £1million bid for Peterborugh hotshot Craig Mackail-Smith and a swoop for Kevin Phillips from Birmingham.

Carlisle expect to be priced out of a move to take Murray back to his native Cumbria, both in terms of transfer fee and wages.

Albion’s early-season trip to Millwall has been brought forward a day on police advice to Friday, August 28 (7.45pm).

Just make sure we get a lot of money for him. 500 grand wouldn't be unreasonable given his goalscoring ratio when fit.

I agree completely, he is still under the contract he signed at Albion, and if Huddersfield or even Leeds are interested, they should pay the going rate for a guy with his potential....£500K plus sell on clause.
If his wife/partner left him to go back home, then I hope she sticks by him after his next move, and doesn't think that Yorkshire is too far away...... It's like Gavin and Stacey all over again.

We don’t want to sell him and we don’t have to sell him. We are holding all the chips. Tell anyone interested the price is 1m and go from there. 500K is a derisory amount.

Being a footballer is not like any other job where you can just transfer from say a supermarket in Brighton to one in the north. To sell a potential 25 goal man (when fully fit ) to one of our rivals is just plain stupid to me. Craig Davies being one example he came to us with a reputation of being a goal scorer and did manage 1 in around 20 games, so replacing glenn Murray will be harder than we might think. Why would we sell to Huddersfield for less than they paid for the other guy as reported £500, 000 when we dont need to sell?.

Whilst I agree his goalscoring record is good, his fitness record is not. As long as we can sell him for about £500k, thats good business in my view. I hope it happens quickly, so RS can get on with dealing with players who want be at the club or are keen to come to us. At the end of the day, he wants to go and family comes before work, so lets let him go and look forward.

Murrays fitness record would not look so bad if our Doctor had diagnosed his hernia at the first opportunity.

I'm not convinced the transfer request is all about family matters.
His first Transfer request came this time last year, about the time that Wilkins was usurped by Adams.
Can't think why Knight would want to have kept that quiet at the time.

Yeah I think we should look to sell him for 500K, and sign someone who wants to play for us, quality player but rarely fit and very lazy from day one and didn't really look like he wanted to be here, I think Davies will come good.
