Andrew Crofts is back in the international reckoning, following a phone call from John Toshack.
The Welsh manager rang the Albion midfielder on Sunday to check on his availability.
Toshack had a depleted squad for the meaningless World Cup qualifying victory in Liechtenstein on Wednesday night but it was too late for Crofts to put country before club.
He was already committed to facing his former team Gillingham at Withdean on Tuesday after scoring his first Albion goal at Yeovil last Saturday.
Toshack's call has, however, rekindled Crofts' hopes of forcing his way back into the Welsh set-up.
The energetic 25-year-old was born in Kent but qualifies for the principality via a grandparent.
He captained the under 21's and has been capped 12 times at senior level but had dropped out of contention after losing his place at Gillingham and going out on loan to Wrexham.
Crofts said: "It is an honour to represent your country. Hopefully I can get back now by playing well for Brighton."
