Lewes will not stand in his way if another young players gets offered a deal by Albion.
Teenage winger Arron Hopkinson scored twice on his debut for Albion’s under-18 side in a 2-0 defeat of Colchester on Wednesday.
Hopkinson, below, who has netted twice in 11 appearances for Lewes this season, could now be offered another run-out with the Seagulls, who have already signed Grant Hall from the Rooks this season.
Manager Steve Ibbitson said: “Arron trained with them earlier this season, which was something that happened off the cuff, and they said they would be keen to give him a game.
“They were pleased with him on Wednesday and may give him another game.
“We have always said, particularly with our young players, we will try to push them as far as we can. We are happy with any involvement with a professional club for our players.”
