Simonsen a no-go says Poyet

Albion boss Gus Poyet has confirmed his interest in Steve Simonsen but does not expect to land Stoke's third choice keeper on loan.

Simonsen is reluctant to drop down to League One, with Championship clubs interested in him, and he does not want to move so far away from his home in Southport.

Poyet said: "I don't think it is something that is going to happen now. I don't know how it came out.

"We have got a big list of names. I don't think there is going to be any possibility of bringing him."

Does not want to drop down a league or move to far from home OK at least he was honest and probably a good decision not to bring or chase him as he has NO interest in B&HA. We need people who want to play football with us not just someone who needs a pay packet so we keep looking and I reckon Mr GP has got a lot of fingers in differant pies for the players HE wants.

I think my sister-in-law once sold him a car, so he shouldn't have any problem commuting.

I agree. They're in the market for a 'stopper' and Championship clubs are said to be sniffing.
