Borough go down at Wimbledon

Goals in each half from Glen Poole and Danny Kedwell condemned Eastbourne Borough to a 2-0 defeat at AFC Wimbledon.

The Dons had dominated the first half entirely and finally made the breakthrough three minutes before the interval when Poole stabbed home a cross from Ricky Wellard from close range.

It was no less than Wimbledon deserved and Borough were grateful to a couple of good saves from Danny Knowles to deny Wellard and Nathan Elder earlier in the half.

Borough improved in the second half and put Dons under some pressure after switching from 4-5-1 to 4-4-2 but the closest they came was a volley from Jamie Taylor which hit James Pullen in the chest.

Knowles made another fine save from a Sam Hatton free kick but Dons wrapped up the points when Danny Kedwell headed home from a Derek Duncan cross with five minutes to go.
