Crawley Town moved to within four points of the play-offs in Blue Square premier after a second successive home win.
It took the Reds until the 75th minute to break the deadlock in a scrappy contest but they were ultimately good value for the victory.
Substitute Michael Malcolm opened the scoring within three of coming on when he headed home a Danny Forrest cross.
Crawley then stepped up a gear and Charlie Ademeno doubled the advantage four minutes from time with a shot into the bottom corner.
Moses Ashikodi reduced the deficit from a free-kick in the 89th minute but Reds held on for a vital win.
