Kazenga LuaLua has paved the way for a permanent move to Albion after reiterating his dissatisfaction with a lack of first team opportunities at Newcastle.

The fleet-footed winger fears his chances will be limited even more if Newcastle go back up to the Premier League and insists dropping down to League One would not bother him.

LuaLua revealed: “No, of course not. I wouldn’t rule out a permanent move. Newcastle are going to get back into the Premier League so we will see what happens.

“I am here to the end of the season. I’ve already spoken to my agent and we’ll see where we go from there.

“Every time at Newcastle I always tried my best in training but I didn’t get a chance, I don’t know why.

“That is what I kept asking myself. You are playing well for the reserves and training well but there is always someone ahead of you for some reason.

“Sometimes when you don’t get a chance you have to start thinking about your own future.”

LuaLua, substituted in each of his first five appearances for the Seagulls, celebrated his loan extension with an eyecatching 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Swindon.

“I am very pleased, because I don’t want to go back to Newcastle, playing for the reserves,” he said. “That’s not what I want this season. I was on the bench all the time, coming on but after that the manager (Chris Hughton) has got his own opinion.

“Some people were ahead of me. Fair enough, he’s the boss, he can do what he wants, but to come here and play week in and week out I am enjoying myself.”

LuaLua’s crossing with his weaker left foot improved against Swindon following special sessions put on for him in training by boss Gus Poyet.

“It makes you feel good,” he said. “The manager wants you to improve and get the best out of you.

“That is what I want the manager to do for me and putting on sessions like that is good. I came here to play and to learn as well. It has been very good under him.”

Defender Adam Virgo is back in contention for tomorrow night’s home game against Brentford after a four-match ban but on-loan Stoke midfielder Diego Arismendi does not expect to be available for his debut until Saturday’s trip to Oldham due to a thigh injury.
