Albion boss Gus Poyet is predicting a home goal spree for Glenn Murray now that the striker has ended his Withdean drought.
Murray headed his first home goal for a year in last night’s 3-0 victory against Brentford.
It followed backing for the marksman from captain Andrew Crofts in The Argus yesterday.
Poyet said: “I had a good feeling he would score. I saw on the back of the newspaper that Crofty was backing Glenn to get a goal.
“He has been very good away from home, really clinical. Unfortunately at home it hadn’t worked.
“I am sure now he will probably score four or five more at home. I am delighted for him.”
Further goals late on from substitutes Adam Virgo and Nicky Forster (penalty) helped lift Albion to 15th in the table.
Poyet said: “We knew the importance of the three points.
“To score three goals and keep a clean sheet at home was probably the perfect game.
“The players did not need any kind of motivation.
“They could not wait for the game after losing to Swindon on Saturday.”
Kazanga LuaLua and his first-half replacement Chris Holroyd are both early doubts for Saturday’s trip to Oldham.
Poyet said: “He (LuaLua) just felt his hamstring a little bit. Now we need to assess him.
“It was the same sort of thing with Chris, although his was more tightness. He couldn’t really stretch his leg.”
