Ade Olorunda fired Hastings United into the quarter-finals of the Sussex Senior Cup by grabbing the only goal at home to Lewes.
The 1-0 win finally brought to a conclusion a controversial third round tie that had dragged on for some five-and-a half-hours over the course of three games.
This was the second time Hastings had beaten the Blue Square south side but their victory on penalties in the first staging of the replay was wiped out after it was discovered they had fielded an ineligible player through no fault of their own.
Hastings’ leading marksman struck on 57 minutes when he turned 25 yards out and unleashed a left-foot drive which flashed beyond Rikki Banks.
Pat Harding’s 17th league goal of the season rescued a 1-1 draw for Horsham in the Ryman premier at Maidstone.
The Hornets had suffered 2-1 defeats in their previous four matches.
The depleted visitors were only kept in the game by a string of fine saves from on-loan Albion stopper Josh Pelling in the first half before Adrian Stone gave the hosts the lead early in the second.
But just after the hour Hornets’ top scorer Harding lashed in from the edge of the box.
