Bennett wants more joy on the road

Elliott Bennett wants to help Albion turn a magnificent seven into a great eight at Oldham tomorrow.

The Seagulls have not lost away from home in League One since going down at Swindon before Christmas, a run of seven games.

Winger Bennett said: “That is promotion form. If the home form was like that we wouldn’t be talking about being safe.

“I enjoy playing all the time anyway, home or away, so personally it’s not an issue for me.

“I don’t know if it is counter-attacking. We just seem to play really well away from home and get the results as well.

“I think we’ve also played well at home sometimes and been unfortunate not to get results.”

Kazenga LuaLua’ absence from the opposite wing through injury places extra responsibility on Bennett, an ever-present in the league since his August move from Wolves.

He said: “I haven’t enjoyed being where we have been for most of the season but I am enjoying it down here. I am really glad I made the move to Brighton.

“I love the place. All the lads are great and I have learnt a lot about myself and on the pitch as well.”

Been the player of the season for me - absolutely top drawer. Both skill and hard work. One of the best players to watch in a brighton shirt for years.

Absolutely agree. Really exciting and a nice bloke with good attitude into the bargain.

A true pro. Thanks to Slade for bringing in some well rounded footballers to the club who have shone this year - dicker, crofts and Bennett have been fantastic for us.

You have to give a lot of credit to Slade for his signings, for the most part they have been solid. Iust a pitty he couldn't get them playing which I reckon was down to a lack of respect and discipline.
.
I reckon this Summer will see not just solid players coming in but exciting players as well- good times ahead!

Don't think that's fair. It was Elphick, Whing and El-Abd playing poorly. Dicker wasn't fit so didn't even start the season.

Agreed! A lot of people have short memories. Russell kept us up last year & did many good things for the Club. Would we now have Gus P. as Manager if we were in Div 2, I don,t think so.......:-). Thank's again, Russell.

I agree with you, but why do people sweep over Navarro. He is a very good player who goes unnoticed.
When he makes mistakes, which they all do, he seems to get abuse. I really rate him. His work rate is something else and we would all notice if he wasnt in the team, because they wouldnt be as good.
