John Maggs is to take control of developing the next generation of Horsham players as part of his new remit at the club.
Maggs has agreed to extend his managerial reign into an 11th season although he has yet to sign his new contract.
As well as looking after the first team he will also oversee youth development as the club look to bring more local youngsters into the side.
Maggs, the most successful manager in Horsham’s history, will also have a testimonial at the start of next season.
He said: “I’m quite excited about the new role with youth development. I will be talking to managers and coaches of all our youth teams from under-12s upwards, identifying the diamonds that are out there and polishing them up.
“I think a lot of clubs at our level are going to have to concentrate more on youth development. The financial situation at this level of football is not great and this is a road a lot will be going down.
“The directors feel I would be the ideal person to front it up and I will still be doing my work on the commercial side, although I will probably get some help with that.”
