The Football Conference have rejected Eastbourne Borough's plea to bring in a goalkeeper on emergency loan for tomorrow's crucial clash with Oxford United.
Borough asked for special dispensation to sign a goalkeeper outside the transfer window after regular No.1 Danny Knowles broke his leg and was sent off at Kettering last week.
FA rules state that clubs can only sign a keeper after the end of March if they have no viable alternative but Borough have Greg Nessling, Dean Lightwood and Seb Barton on their books.
Lightwood is unlikely to play tomorrow after picking up an injury when he came off the bench at Kettering so boss Garry Wilson must choose between Nessling and Barton.
