Corey Collymore took the best figures of his Sussex career as the county wrapped up an innings win over Leicestershire at Grace Road today.
The former West Indies seamer finished with 6-48 after taking 4-27 in 9.1 overs after lunch as Leicestershire were dismissed for 156.
Sussex won by an innings and 19 runs to pick up 23 points and extend their lead at the top of the second division.
After the start was delayed for 65 minutes by rain Lewis Hatchett got a wicket with the first ball of the day when he bowled Tom New (2) with a booming inswinger.
Sussex were made to wait by a stand of 79 in 17 overs between Jacques Du Toit and Wayne White either side of lunch.
Collymore came into the attack after the resumption and struck twice in the same over. Du Toit, having made 81 off 83 balls with 17 fours, limply hung his bat out at one which seamed away and was caught at slip and Claude Henderson followed three balls later, slashing to slip.
Collymore had Nadeem Malik dropped twice in the slips before eventually claiming his fifth wicket when Malik was lbw on the back foot to a full-length delivery.
He wrapped up victory shortly before 3pm when Matthew Hoggard gave Mike Yardy his third catch at slip.
Monty Panesar picked up the other wicket when White, who had scored 23, was beaten in the flight and stumped by Ben Brown.
