Head coach Nick Greenwood praised Eastbourne Borough's fighting spirit as they drew 1-1 at home to Darlington despite playing for an hour with nine men.
Neil Jenkins and Rikki Banks were sent off within two minutes of each other with Matt Smart having to take over in goal.
Peter Senior gave the visitors the lead just before the break but Jamie Taylor headed an equaliser in the 70th minute.
Greenwood said: "I have been saying all season that the spirit in the team has been remarkable and it was shown again today.
"We have had some amazing games at this club like the time we won 3-2 at Basingstoke having been 2-0 down after 90 minutes. We use that all the time as an example to the players of what can happen in football if you keep going and this is another one we can use now. It was incredible."
Greenwood also criticised referee Mike Bull for the two red cards.
He added: "I thought Rikki got his angles right when he caught the ball and the linesman who was level with it didn't put his flag up to say he was outside the area.
"With Neil Jenkins there was a blatant push just before he made the tackle which the referee completely overlooked. We are not allowed to criticise referees publicly but we will be putting a report in about his performance."
