Eastbourne Borough have signed England under-19 international goalkeeper Liam O’Brien on loan from Portsmouth.
The highly-rated 18-year-old signed for Pompey from Queens Park Rangers in 2008 but has yet to make his first-team debut. However, he made his international bow in March as a second half substitute against Holland under-19s.
O’Brien will go straight into the Borough squad for Saturday’s Blue Square Bet premier clash at Barrow, with Rikki Banks suspended and Danny Knowles still recovering from a broken leg sustained in April.
