Lewes forward Tim Rivers has joined Eastbourne Town on dual-registration forms.

Rivers started his first game under new boss Tim O’Shea in the recent FA Trophy clash with Salisbury and scored in the following match against Shoreham in the Senior Cup.

But O’Shea believes his chances of a regular start will be limited now Leyton Orient loanee George Porter is free from suspension.

The Lewes chief wants Rivers to keep match fit and is also mindful that the former English Schools under-18s international is going to America next season on a sports scholarship.

O’Shea said: “He probably won’t be starting now that we have George back.

“We also have Ben Godfrey, Paul Olima, Tom Murphy and David Wheeler back so we have some quality options and I think it is best he gets some games.”

Lewes are without a league game this weekend due to their exit from the FA Trophy but will play Ryman premier division side Margate in a friendly at the Dripping Pan (3pm).
