Crawley defender David Hunt insists he would sacrifice a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup to beat promotion rivals Swindon Town tonight.
Reds travel to the County Ground to take on Paolo Di Canio’s in-form Robins five days before their televised fifth round clash with Stoke City.
Victory could send them back to the top of League Two and would also open up a six point gap over Swindon in fifth place.
Hunt said: “The lads haven’t mentioned the Cup game at all and neither has the gaffer. It is the same as last season when we played Manchester United we didn’t even think about it until after the league game before.
“I personally think the league is more important than the FA Cup anyway. The Cup is a nice bonus but it is more important to beat Swindon than win on Sunday.
“The Cup is great for the club and the fans but the league has got to be our priority. If someone offered me a place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup or promotion then I now which one I would take.”
