Crawley Town have been dealt an injury scare ahead of their FA Cup fifth round clash with Stoke City on Sunday.
Regular goalkeeper Scott Shearer has suffered a knee injury and did not play in last night’s 3-0 defeat at League Two promotion rivals Swindon Town.
Although he was named on the bench, Shearer was not fit enough to start between the posts and his place was taken by the experienced Michel Kuipers.
Shearer has been in terrific form recently and has not let in a goal during their FA Cup run this season.
Although Kuipers was not to blame for any of last night's goals, Crawley will be keen to get Shearer available for selection.
Manager Steve Evans confirmed Shearer’s injury after the game but would not elaborate on the extent of it.
The Scot will be assessed today ahead of the Stoke game, which will be the first time Crawley have ever hosted a Premier League side.
Stoke are in action tomorrow night when they host Valencia in the Europa League.
Evans was not prepared to look ahead to the Sunday's tie after last night's disappointing defeat. He said: “I'm not interested in Stoke."
