Reds make five changes for crucial match

Crawley caretaker boss Craig Brewster has made sweeping changes for the win-or-bust promotion match at Accrington Stanley today.

Scott Shearer, David Hunt, John Akinde, Warren Cummings and Scott Neilson all come into the side which went down 3-0 at home to Hereford United last Saturday.

Shearer replaces Michel Kuipers in goal after the former Albion stopper produced an error-strewn display against Hereford. It is the former Coventry keeper's first appearance since injuring a knee in February.

Hunt comes in at right-back for his first game since breaking a bone in his foot against Stoke City in the FA Cup in February. Josh Simpson, who has been playing out of position at right-back, pushes into midfield with Scott Davies dropping out.

Charlie Wassmer has paid the price for a poor performance against Hereford by losing his place in the team with Kyle McFadzean switching from midfield to centre back alongside Claude Davis.

Dean Howell was also at fault for the first goal against Hereford and drops out to be replaced by Cummings at left-back.

Neilson comes in on the right-wing with Akinde replacing Billy Clarke up front.

Accrington hand a full debut to midfielder Marcus Carver while Adam Stockdale is on the bench for the first time.

Accrington (4-2-3-1): Dunbavin; McIntyre, Nsiala, Murphy, Lindfield; Liddle, Joyce; Devitt, Barnett, Carver; Amond. Subs: Nicolls, Evans, Hatfield, Hughes, Stockdale.

Crawley (4-4-2): Shearer; Hunt, Davis, McFadzean, Cummings; Neilson, Bulman, Simpson, Torres; Alexander, Akinde. Subs: Kuipers, Davies, Mills, Clarke, Watt.
